What may seem obvious to us can sometimes cause confusion for our customers. We’ve realized there are things we take for granted that aren’t always clearly expressed in our catalog — and we reflect on that deeply.
Let us share one such piece of feedback:
Product: 50 mL centrifuge tube
Comment: 50 mL tubes with markings that stop at 45 mL — mysterious, but roomy!
Yeah... there’s really no excuse for this one.
When you open the cap, it does seem like it could hold 50 mL...
There is still some extra space above the 45 mL mark within the frosted area. However, it's clear that this does not reach 50 mL — it's likely around 47.5 mL.
But？...Wait...
!!
There is a marking — faint, but it’s there!?
It turns out, there is a 50 mL marking, but it’s positioned under the cap threads, so once the cap is on, it’s hard to see.
In fact, the lowest point of the screw thread indicates the 50 mL line, and there’s also a marking on the opposite side.
