Konnichiwa!
When you take a long vacation, how many days do you usually take off?
In Japan, as I mentioned last week, the period from late April to early May often becomes a long holiday called “Golden Week” because we have four national holidays in addition to the regular weekends.
This year, my longest break will be four consecutive days, following the regular calendar.
However, some people are lucky enough to have up to 11 days off!
And now, as we enter May, it's time for a certain "famous" condition to appear in Japan...
It's called — "Gogatsu-byo" (May Sickness)!
After the excitement and tension of the new school and business year in April, people gradually settle into their routines.
Combined with the relaxation from a long holiday, some may experience a sudden loss of motivation — that's Gogatsu-byo.
While it’s great to put in a strong effort at the start of the new year, it's just as important to pace yourself and avoid burning out.
(Actually, I think "Gogatsu-byo" deserves a spot in our Dictionary too, haha!)
Meanwhile, as April comes to a close, don't forget —
our April campaign is also ending soon!
We plan to launch new campaigns every month this year, but it's hard to say if the same deals will return.
If you haven’t checked it out yet, now's the time!
Also, the details of our May campaign have already been shared exclusively with our email newsletter members!
Being a member gets you early access to campaigns and sometimes even special discounts, so if you're interested, now’s a great time to sign up!
See you next week!
