Konnichiwa!
Last Tuesday, I missed my usual blog post—thanks to a national holiday and, well… a bit of poor planning on my part.
I'm reflecting on that and working to improve, but on the bright side, I got more rest than usual, and now I'm back with a refreshed mindset for the week!
💌 This Week’s Email Newsletter
Every Tuesday, I also send out a newsletter!
It includes updates I don’t share on the blog, and sometimes even exclusive coupons.
If you’re reading this and haven’t subscribed yet—why not give it a try?
It’s completely free, and you can unsubscribe at any time. No pressure!
What kind of content is in it, you ask...?
Well, that's something you'll just have to discover for yourself 😉
(Yes, it’s that exclusive.)
🧾 Check vs Cheque — A Cultural Moment
The other day, during a conversation with a colleague, they said “Pay by check.”
And I found myself thinking—wait, shouldn’t it be cheque?
That’s when it clicked.
His English is American. Mine? British-based.
Since I’ve worked mostly with people in India and Singapore, I realized my natural default is much closer to British English (or to be more accurate—Hinglish or Singlish).
It’s funny how small language differences can suddenly highlight deeper cultural ones.
Just another reminder that I still have a lot to learn!
That’s all for this week.
See you again next time!
