KonnichiWATSON!
Yesterday, the 23rd, we had company health checkups.
Back when I was a student, I never had to worry about results, but now, a few decades later, I understand that it takes a lot more effort to stay within a healthy range—and how important daily habits really are.
1.Even with all this exercise…
Compared to a year ago, I’m down 2kg, even though I’ve been hitting the gym four times a week. But one of the reasons I started going was “to be able to eat delicious meals to my heart’s content,” so if I end up eating a bit more, I can accept that. After all, enjoying a good meal is worth it!
2.The glasses life
I always have three or four spares, but it was finally time for an upgrade. It had been about four years, and when I tried to remember when I last updated my prescription, I came up blank… so this time, I had new lenses made.
The moment I put them on, it felt like, “Wow! The world is this crisp?” It’s a reminder of how much you can miss when you get too used to the status quo. But with new lenses comes a new adjustment period — if I don’t make an effort to adapt quickly, I might end up falling back to the old ones.
Getting used to things can be helpful, but too much of it can also be a bit dangerous. So why not shake things up a bit? Try picking up one of our pipettors, or even just a different pipette tip or cell culture plate, and see if you can find a new discovery in the process!
